What is the cost of piano lessons?

How long does a typical piano lesson last?
A typical piano lesson lasts for 1 hour. For the Mini Musicians Programs (ages 3-6) class time is approx. 45 mins and 15 mins for Open Play in our Montessori Play Area.
Do my kid need to have any prior musical experience to take piano lessons?
No prior musical experience is required to start taking piano lessons. Lessons can be tailored for beginners as well as intermediate or advanced students.
What age is suitable to start learning piano?
At KPS, we offer lessons for children as young as 3 years old, as well as children of all ages. It’s never too late to start learning!
Can I take piano lessons online or do you only offer in-person lessons?
At this moment, KPS only offers in-person piano lessons. “Piano lessons are conducted in a small group setting, fostering confidence, social skill development, and providing opportunities to practice the art of performance.”
Do you offer trial lessons for new students?
Yes, KPS offers trial lessons for new students. It’s a great opportunity to get acquainted, assess your goals, and determine if we’re a good fit for ongoing lessons.
What teaching methods or approaches do you use in your piano lessons?
Our methods incorporate a variety of teaching methods tailored to each student’s needs. This includes a combination of traditional techniques, ear training, music theory, and practical application. Most importantly, we practice a modern, playful and engaging approach to learn music. Encouragement is key!
Do I need to own a piano to take lessons?
While it is ideal to have a piano/ piano keyboard at home for regular practice, it is not a requirement to start taking lessons. You can initially use a digital piano. However, having access to a piano for regular practice is highly recommended to progress effectively.
Do you offer recital or performance opportunities for students?
Yes, we believe performance is an essential aspect of learning piano. We organize recitals and performance opportunities for students to showcase their progress and build confidence. Our recitals are semi-formal and create a supportive and encouraging environment for students to share their musical talents.
Do you provide learning materials such as sheet music and practice exercises?
Yes, depending on the program and/or course level, we provide a variety of learning materials including sheet music, practice exercises, and our KPS workbooks which are designed thoughtfully by the instructor. Extra materials are provided for sale in our shop and are tailored to the individual needs and skill levels of my students to enhance their learning experience.

What are the studio terms and conditions?
Fees and Payments Policy
Payments are due in full by the first lesson of classes. If the payment is not received by the
second week of classes, the late fee of $10 will be automatically added to the remaining amount.
Payment can be made by Cash, Zelle, or credit/debit Cards. If using credit/debit cards, there is a
transaction fee of 3.5% will be added to the amount. All payments paid are non-refundable.
Deposit Policy
KPS requires a non-refundable deposit to secure a student’s enrollment schedule. The deposit
will be applied to the service’s total cost, with the remaining balance due on the first class. The
deposit will not be refunded if the student cancels or fails to complete the transaction.
Cancellation Policy
The cancellation policy before a course Starts will allow students to cancel their registration
however, the deposit amount paid at the time of registration will NOT be refundable.
Make-Up Classes Policy
There will be absolutely NO REFUNDS if a student misses a lesson, regardless of the situation. I
will do my best to accommodate requests to reschedule, but I cannot guarantee a make-up.
1. All students are entitled to ONE make-up class per course. More than one make-up class will
NOT be guaranteed.
2. Notification: If a student knows in advance that they will miss a lesson, they must notify the
instructor at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time.
3. Rescheduling: If the student notifies the instructor in advance, the make-up class must be
completed within one week of the missed lesson.
4. Instructor’s Absence: In case of the instructor’s absence, the instructor will provide a make-up
class for the missed lesson.
5. Safety First: In case of hazardous weather conditions reported BY THE STATE, such as heavy
snowfall, ice storm, etc…the safety of the student, instructor, and others is our top priority.
Therefore, classes will be canceled, and a make-up class will be rescheduled.
Termination Policy
Either party may terminate the course by written notice. In case of termination by the Student,
there will be NO refund for any remaining lessons.
Events Policy
For all KPS events such as Workshops, Parties, Camps, etc.. payments are non-refundable,
regardless of the reason for cancellation or absence. By submitting payment for an event, you
acknowledge and accept that it is non-refundable and that you will not be entitled to a refund in
the event of cancellation or non-attendance.
Photography/Recording/Social Media Consent
The Instructor may take photographs or make audio or video recordings of the Student during
lessons for promotional purposes, including our public website, social media, and other internet
sites. The Student may opt out of such recordings by notifying the Instructor in writing.
Liability Policy
The Instructor will take all reasonable precautions to ensure the Student’s safety during lessons
but will not be liable for any injury or damage to the Student or their property in the studio.
